Whether in the industrial, military or aerospace markets, the need for motion control is universal. A motion control application involves a motor that imparts motion requiring linear and/or rotational precision. Examples might be a vision system along a PCB manufacturing line or a motor controlling a tank turret. While motion control was at one time left to "specialized"circuits and tuned to a specific requirement, processors have made great strides offering the processing power and ease of programming such that many of today's motor control requirements can be met.
