The FPGA community can now provide a wide range of FMC modules including analog, digital, fiber-optic, networking and custom. While Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions develops a number of FMC modules, we’ve also worked to develop strong relationships with third party suppliers to provide you with a wide range of solutions based off your required FMC functions. Services to support this include fully integrated and tested solutions, porting of code to a Curtiss-Wright host FPGA card like the CHAMP-FX4, supporting multi-board/multi-channel synchronization or perhaps a simple recommendation of where to source.
Third party solutions could include:
- A requirement for a nominated card for Curtiss-Wright to integrate
- A specification of the IO requirement for Curtiss-Wright to find a suitable card
- Parallel connectivity FMCs for analog IO
- Serially connected FMCs such as JESD204B based analog IO
- High speed fiber-optics (either individual fibers or MTP terminated ribbon cables)
- Custom IO function
Function | Standard | Analog/Digital | Speed | Comment |
---|---|---|---|---|
Analog I/O | FMC | ADC, DAC or Transceiver | 100-5000 MSPS | Contact Factory |
Fiber-optic I/O | FMC | Individual or MTP fiber | Up to 10Gb/s, up to 10 channels | Contact Factory |
There are many aspects in being able to ensure FMC and host interoperability, including whether sufficient functionality is supported by both host and mezzanine, interface IO voltage tolerance and mechanical (especially rugged solutions). FMCs directly interface to the host FPGA without an formal bus structure which supports efficient, high performance solutions but require more considerations than other mezzanine formats such as XMC.
